DESCRIPTION:Qigong\, one of the branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine\, is a movement practice that can help us to cultivate our energy\, learn to protect it\, and how to use it responsibly as we walk through the world.  \nEach week\, our Qigong practice will focus on helping us clear away old stories and patterns that may be stored in our bodies\, and loosening the grip they may have on us. We will also focus on how to set energetic boundaries around us so that we may be more present\, energetic\, and engaged with the world around us. You will learn energy hygiene practices and embodiment practices that you can take home with you to benefit your overall vitality and longevity.  \nAs an intention-based movement practice\, Qigong feels like a meditation in motion. The postures and movements are appropriate for various levels of ability and can be done seated or standing. It’s a beautiful exercise that can bring us into our bodies without force\, and is an excellent option for those who would like to meditate in a different setting than a seated practice. \nWear flowing and comfortable clothing that is ready for movement.

DESCRIPTION:The Inner Wild is a nourishing embodied movement experience that invites you to reconnect with yourself through gentle guided exploration\, breath and sensation. It is a way of sensing\, listening and moving through the world where body\, heart\, mind and spirit speak at once. \nThrough Ayla’s creative direction\, you are supported to move in ways that feel natural and intuitive\, allowing self-expression to arise through the body. You are invited to listen inwardly\, follow your own pace and notice what your body needs in each moment\, held within a calm and supportive environment. \nA spacious field of time is held throughout\, guiding you to soften\, unwind and arrive more fully into presence\, with optional sharing in circle and gentle reflection woven into the experience. This practice draws from both Indigenous and non-Indigenous knowledge systems\, including symbolic orientation\, elemental and directional frameworks\, imagery and circle-based practices that support embodied gathering. \nAn invitation into breath\, sensation and shared presence\, this is an open\, accessible practice for all levels with no dance experience necessary. As our ancestors everywhere once knew\, our survival depends on the survival of the other species. By working together intensively through shamanic journeys and other spiritual experiences\, we will dedicate ourselves to working in both non-ordinary and ordinary reality to restore and maintain a living planet. \nThis is a two-day workshop combining educational content and experiential learning. You are always encouraged to move at your own pace\, with options and guidance provided throughout. \nThis is a space to soften\, breathe\, and be supported in community\, leaving you feeling more grounded\, clear\, and connected. \nOver time breathwork can help: \n\nImprove your ability to shift out of stress and return to a calm\, regulated state\nRecognize tension\, stress signals\, and how your body responds in real time\nBuild capacity to feel without overwhelm and supports the release of stored tension\nCalm the mind\, reduce overthinking\, and improve presence and decision-making\nImprove breathing patterns\nCreate lasting changes by shifting habitual stress and breathing patterns through repetition and awareness\n\nContraindications\nBefore diving into breathwork\, it’s important to check in with your healthcare provider\, if you’ve\ngot any ongoing health conditions\, recent injuries\, or if you’re on medication. Breathwork can stir\nup some pretty intense physical and emotional responses\, so it’s best to make sure it’s safe for\nyou. \nHere is a list of contraindications to be aware of before starting breathwork: \n\n● Recent surgeries or serious injuries.\n● Anyone with heart issues\n● High blood pressure or a history of strokes.\n● Those using stimulants or psychoactive substances.\n● Seizures or Epilepsy\n● Diabetes or kidney problems\n● Recent eye surgeries\n● Those managing significant mental health conditions\, such as bipolar disorder or PTSD.\n● On blood thinners\n● Asthma – if so bring along your inhaler.\n● Lung disease\, injuries or disorders.\n● If you’re pregnant\, especially in the later stages of the second trimester onwards\, it’s\ncrucial to get a green light from your healthcare provider.\n\nFor the session itself\, please: \n\n\n● Dress comfy to move easily: Leggings or loose pants\, sports bra\n● Skip the jewelry\, especially rings or necklaces\, to avoid any distractions or discomfort.\n● It’s best to avoid heavy exercise or big meals 2 hours beforehand as it’s harder to\nbreathe on a full stomach. DESCRIPTION:Qigong\, one of the branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine\, is a movement practice that can help us to cultivate our energy\, learn to protect it\, and how to use it responsibly as we walk through the world.  \nEach week\, our Qigong practice will focus on helping us clear away old stories and patterns that may be stored in our bodies\, and loosening the grip they may have on us. We will also focus on how to set energetic boundaries around us so that we may be more present\, energetic\, and engaged with the world around us. You will learn energy hygiene practices and embodiment practices that you can take home with you to benefit your overall vitality and longevity.  \nAs an intention-based movement practice\, Qigong feels like a meditation in motion. The postures and movements are appropriate for various levels of ability and can be done seated or standing. It’s a beautiful exercise that can bring us into our bodies without force\, and is an excellent option for those who would like to meditate in a different setting than a seated practice. \nWear flowing and comfortable clothing that is ready for movement.
