Prepping for Class

In-Studio Registration

  • Please pre-register for all classes at this time.
  • Arrive 15 minutes early for scheduled classes to check in and pay for your class in the Boutique.
  • Meet your teacher in the Yoga Room for the class. Outdoor classes will gather here first and head outdoors as a group.
  • Please bring a sealable water bottle. If you forget your water bottle, water is available on site, and water bottles may be purchased in the Boutique.
  • Mats & props will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own mat. Our mats will be set up prior to the start of class, so feel free to put yours on top of one for extra padding.
  • Please wear comfortable, flexible clothing that allows for free movement in all of our classes. Shirts are required for men and women.
  • Please wear bathing suits for all Aqua Yoga classes.
  • We ask that you do not strong scents or perfumes to our classes out of courtesy to our guests who are sensitive to them.
  • Practicing personal hygiene is also a practice of yoga! Please arrive fresh for class and enjoy the purity that it can provide.
  • For outdoor classes you may wish to wear sunscreen and/or bug spray. Natural bug spray may be purchased in our Boutique prior to class.
  • If you use our mats, we ask that you wipe them down with the provided mat cleaner after the class.
  • Many students use the time prior to class to centre themselves through meditation or warm-up yoga. Please be respectful by keeping your voice low during this time.
  • Classes will start on time. Please be on time, and do not open the door after it has been closed at the start of class.
  • Honour your own practice. Our classes give you the chance to explore your body’s limits and comforts. While it is encouraged to follow the teacher’s sequencing, if there is a posture that pushes you beyond your limit, please refrain from practicing it. Our skilled teachers will be able to provide modifications that allow you to find the same benefits with less risk of injury.
  • Don’t skip savasana! The rest at the end of class is very important to allow the body, mind and energy system to process the effects of the practice. Leaving during savasana also disturbs your fellow students who are trying to reach a state of balance.
  • Please assist your teacher in putting away the props after class.

Hatha is an ancient, traditional form of yoga from which many styles were derived. It includes conscious breathing practices, holding poses, mindful movement, meditation and relaxation. Classes may be centred around a certain pose, an area or system of the body or a nature inspired phenomenon such as the beginning of a new season. You may also learn about yogic philosophy.

The content of this class will vary from restorative to slow flow style practices with encouragement on nurturing one’s connection to body, mind and breath. With continued practice we move towards the balance of effort and ease. This class will be guided in a way that is accessible to all levels of practitioners with modifications being offered. Beginners will gain foundational understanding that will boost their confidence to explore other classes. More experienced practitioners will be invited to dive deeper inward connecting to one’s inner teacher.

This class encourages mindful breath & movement with the support of a chair. It includes seated and/or standing postures that are adapted from typical yoga classes, to provide more accessibility for all our guests.

This therapeutic form of yoga will help you find deep relaxation and healing through gentle movement, supported postures, and mindful breathing. Our teachers will guide you through a nurturing practice that allows you to de-stress and cultivate peace in the body and mind.

Yin yoga promotes deep stretching and strength building by holding poses for an extended period of time. Most of the poses are performed on the ground or while reclining. This form of yoga focuses on the connective tissues of the body, helping you gain more joint stability and flexibility.

Kundalini Yoga is an ancient form of yoga that strengthens the health and vitality of the body, mind and spirit. This practice restores balance by adjusting each system of the body, tuning up our energetic meridians and field, clearing away the subconscious clutter and training our brain to help us live more mindfully. Kundalini yoga emphasizes meditation, mantra and conscious control of breath and energy.

Vinyasa yoga is a practice of flowing smoothly from one pose to the next in coordination with the breath. This practice helps you build strength, burn calories, increase circulation, improve digestion and expand your self-awareness. The pace and intensity of the movement varies depending on the intention of the class.

Aqua Yoga can be very therapeutic and supportive of healing and rehabilitation.  We will promote mobility, circulation, connection to the body & breath, and close the class with a relaxing savasana. This is an all-levels class.

Power yoga is a more active and intense variation of hatha yoga. It helps you build strength and tone muscles, tending to focus on the core and upper body. Our teachers motivate you to explore your body’s power in a healthy, mindful way.

Meditation is a mental practice that involves relaxation, focus and awareness. The mind becomes still and quiet so that you can become present, and observe the sensations within yourself, and the environment round you from moment to moment. Meditation is known to alter brain chemistry and gray matter, leading to greater self awareness, improved cognitive functioning, reduced levels of stress, anxiety, depression, pain and an increase in overall well being.

Our classes are accessible to all levels of experience with meditation, and will help you cultivate and build upon your meditation practice.
