The purpose of this gentle group is to access a space where we can experience community, connection and compassion. Together, slowly and gently we will focus on learning how to identify what the emotion we are feeling in our body and where we are feeling it. The purpose will be to combine vocalizing where our emotions are paired with gentle body movements focusing on shifting stagnant energy.
Sitting in a circle we will combine group counselling with body movement. This class Is not for the intention of divulging into the why and how but rather what and where. What are we feeling and where are we feeling it. With this information, we will move gently together, combing somatic exercises, mindfulness exercises and gentle yoga. This class is all about finding autonomy and perhaps safety in our body.
This group is open for all, no matter where you are at in your own self healing and/or yoga journey. This is a class to dress in comfortable layers, maybe bring a small blanket or a fuzzy to ground into. If it’s comforting to have a water or tea with you, please do. It may be helpful to a small journal and pen handy.
This session will be guided by Grace Driedger – Registered Social Worker and Yoga Teacher.
