Introduction to Foundations in Mindfulness
August 9, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 5:00 pm on Tuesday and Friday, repeating until August 19, 2022
Practicing mindfulness can serve as a valuable antidote to the stress many people experience in juggling the competing demands common during daily life. When left unchecked, stress can lead to fatigue, burnout and health issues. Mindfulness is a science based fundamental aspect of human self-care. When you are aware of how you feel and what you need, you not only experience a greater sense of mental and physical well-being, but you can also better meet the needs and demands in each present moment of life. In this experiential 60 minute, 4-course workshop, participants will learn about the neuroscience of mindfulness, the benefits, the challenges, misconceptions, and how to cultivate their own practice. We will begin each class with an inquiry question, guided meditation, incorporate some gentle yoga movements, practice and discuss mindfulness and close with a journal reflection.
